A1R Foiling Pipeline on Display

Pensacola, FL – Twenty American WASZP sailors and sixteen American Moth sailors gathered in Pensacola, Florida, for an intensive week of training and racing at Foiling Week, supported by America One Racing (A1R) coaches and Quantum Racing experts. The WASZP sailors also trained alongside their Canadian counterparts for three days, boosting participation to record levels. The WASZP class is expected to grow rapidly across North America, driven by its inclusion in the America One Racing Foiling Pipeline and Canada’s WeCANfoil Program. Plans are already underway to bring the WASZP Games to Pensacola in 2026.

Once again, Pensacola Yacht Club welcomed our program with its characteristic hospitality, providing an ideal setting for high-performance foiling development.

Each day, expert weather forecasts provided real-time support, helping sailors refine their race strategies and build long-term event preparation skills.

Daily performance debriefs were open to all sailors in both fleets, offering athletes and coaches the opportunity to analyze their training and racing data with advanced analytics from Rosenberg Analytics—an A1R athlete and coach currently developing cutting-edge performance tracking software.

Quantum Racing expert and American Magic AC37 coach Tom Burnham, alongside A1R High-Performance Director Charlie McKee, shared valuable insights each day using drone footage and tracking data. Athletes embraced the Kaizen approach, continuously refining their skills with the goal of building on their experience from the last Moth Class Worlds in New Zealand and peaking for their next event in Lago di Garda, Italy, this summer.

A-Class & F18 World Champion, Rolex Sailor of the Year Ravi Parent (A1R WASZP Class Coach) was also in Pensacola, working closely with Olympic medalist Jay Glaser on developing his A-Class sail. Parent, who is aiming to reclaim the A-Class World Title this year, took advantage of the top-tier training environment to fine-tune his equipment and performance.

Foiling Week also served as an evaluation event for A1R, helping select travel teams for the Waszp Games to be held in Weymouth, England, in July. By the end of the camp, all athletes left Pensacola with clear fitness, training, and racing plans for the rest of the season.

A1R remains committed to expanding its Foiling Pipeline Program through domestic events and international competition.

Meanwhile, as these two groups trained in Pensacola, our Formula Wingfoil Squad was hard at work in Oahu, Hawaii, under the close guidance of A1R class expert coach Adrien Galliard and Sammy Perez Hults. Athletes pushed their technical limits, training alongside world-class competitors, including Kamil Manowiecki from Poland, who placed second in last year’s World Cup Ranking. The squad is focused on peaking for the Wingfoil Class World Cup in Silvaplana, Switzerland, this July.
